Description

The project is implemented by two non-governmental organizations in partnership. Zavod Carnica is a private institution from Kranj, while Zavod Oloop is a private institution from Ljubljana.
The project addresses the empowerment of the government sector, which uses textile creation as a tool of help and self-help to strengthen vulnerable women''s groups (women with the experience of cultural-social transition, the elderly, the chronically ill, the unemployed).
Together with other stakeholders, the partners intend to create a supportive environment in the field of physical, psychological and social well-being. The proposed project is the first in a series of a wider program of development of the Slovenian field of textile creation and welfare. It foresees the professionalization of the environment, the preparation of materials and the transfer of international experience to the Slovenian field of assistance with textile art, textile activism and textile communities. The challenge is current and it takes place as part of the promotional activities of a wider program - BIEN biennial of textile arts, which takes place in Kranj, Škofja Loka, Jesenice and Nova Gorica from May 31 to August 10. In parallel with the artistic part of the program, the partners are preparing an expert consultation on June 29 and the development of a platform to research and promote the use of textile creation in the context of health prevention (daycare centers, youth centers, homes for the elderly) and social rehabilitation (asylums, prisons,...).
The target groups are non-governmental organizations, public educational and social welfare organizations, and informal groups that deal or are starting to deal with activities in the fields of assistance to various women''s vulnerable groups.
The project will be implemented by the applicant with the professional assistance of a partner.
