Summary of project results

The main objective of the project was to support diversity in the contemporary art and strengthen cultural identity and bilateral relationships with Norway. The project made it possible with establishing close cooperation between the three international organizations (B-Art, 420PEOPLE and Jo Stromgren Kompani) and with preparation of dance performance "A Dance Tribute to Ping Pong". The premiere of the performance with its world famous choreography took place in the Czech Republic at the eighth annual festival TANECVALMEZ in June 2015. In addition, the performance remained in the repertory for more reruns in the future. The project enabled further significant development of the TANECVALMEZ festival. The professional workshops gave the possibility to work with teachers together from the Czech Republic and Norway. A professional documentary film about the project and festival was created on the basis of video and photographic materials collected for the entire period of the project. The video captures the most important moments of the project activities. The Festival was very well received and has exceeded the expectations with amazing audience, satisfied performers and a great atmosphere, according to the festival director.

Summary of bilateral results

The project concluded two partnership agreements: with Norwegian partner Jo Stromgren Kompani (artistic director and choreographer with his dance company) and also with Czech partner 420PEOPLE. Intensive cooperation between partners began during working visit in Norway in December 2014. The three Czech-Norwegian dance residences were followed to prepare and study the choreography for a performance "A Dance Tribute to Ping Pong". The premiere of the performance took place in the Czech Republic at the festival TANECVALMEZ in June 2015. Established cooperation helped the recipients to expand their activities and for the final beneficiary to focus more on cooperation with foreign partners. Norwegian partner gained through this cooperation a new opportunity to present their work in the Czech Republic.
