Description

The idea of Punkt/Music Infinity is the outcome of the already started cooperation between Norwegian and Czech parties during the working of Music Infinity project, which has been in existence for 9 years. It principally reflects the needs of both parties to further develop and appraise the results of their existing work in the sphere of the cultural exchange, presentation of the cooperation results and also to ensure the continuity and development of the project. It reflects the problems of insufficient cultural offer, limited access (mutual) towards the cultural offer of both countries, both for viewers and the performers themselves, and insufficient cultural dialogue. It principally fulfills the requirements of the concept of EHP fund drawing 2009 – 2014 within the open invitation of PA17 - “Promotion of diversity in culture and art within European cultural heritage ”. The basic goal is to strengthen the dialogue between the Norwegian and Czech art scenes and implementing both groups in mutual resulting work. It is expected to be achieved via presentation of the innovative approach of PUNKT in CR, education of artists and participants in the process of common work and in seminars and workshops and also via exchange of experience and enhancing of mutual cultural awareness. The festival is planned to be held in Brno and Prague together with free-entrance workshops and seminars with Czech and foreign lecturers. The most important group is the age group of secondary and university graduates from 17 – 35 years of age. This group can benefit from the wider offer of new art in Prague which is focused on quality and individuality of the projects. The donor partner is Stiftelsen Punkt, a Non-governmental organisation from the field of culture. Punkt concept/festival structure provides a perfect platform for cultural exchange.

Summary of project results

The project "Punkt/Music Infinity " aimed at strengthening the dialogue between the Norwegian and Czech art scenes, implementing both groups in mutual resulting work, exchanging of experience and enhancing cultural awareness. The project was focused on a presentation and interaction of two musical artistic platforms "Festival Punkt meets Music Infinity" and consisted of four follow-up cultural and educational activities with a high-quality programme. Workshops/seminars, 3 - day festival in Prague and 1 - day festival in Brno took place during April 2015. And promotion of Punkt/Music Infinity at Festival in Kristiansand / Norway followed in September 2015. The festival with the accompanying programme hit yet in the Czech Republic completely unmapped part of the music scene due to its focus on innovative projects and new creative approaches, multigenre content overlap and the merger of individual artistic disciplines. Punkt/Infinity Music festival also increased the diversity of cultural offer, the mobility of artists from both countries and the active participation of individual performers within the framework of cultural exchange and established a new cultural dialogue.

Summary of bilateral results

The donor partner of the project is Stiftelsen Punkt, a Non-governmental organisation from the field of culture which organizes a music festival Punkt in the city of Kristiansand in the south of Norway. The partners have already been in close touch for a long time, they have worked together since 2006. Stiftelsen Punkt was actively involved in the project implementation and participated in all festival events as well as in the workshops. The specific role of the partner lied in selecting of the performers and specialists on the Norwegian part, seting the rules of cooperation and communication with the final beneficiary and providing promotion and public relations abroad. Cooperation with partner has been very beneficial especially in program planning and during the technical project implementation. Exchange of experiences with different cultural traditions were mutual. Festival helped to strengthen dialogue between Norway and Czech art scene.
