Description
The general objective of the project is to increase the access to community health services for the Roma population from Ion Corvin commune, Constanta county based on the principle of non-discrimination and equal opportunities. The Roma population faces a high degree of exclusion from social and public health services due to the low level of education, lack of health insurance, lack of a medical services at community level.
The project aims at the establishment of a medico-social assistance centre that will deliver basic medical services to vulnerable people as well as accompanying services for beneficiaries to access the services offered by public institutions (social, employment, education etc.).
The target group of the project is made up of vulnerable people, predominantly Roma ethnics, but also non-Roma people facing similar problems, as well as professionals from local public services or informal community structures that advocate for the improvement of the Roma situation.
Activities includes setting up the community assistance centre by purchasing, and endowment of a modular structure with this destination, provision of community healthcare services for 400 people (of which at least 300 are Roma), the implementation of an education program for health for 300 beneficiaries regarding disease prevention and increasing access to services medical, the training of 10 specialists and volunteers in working with people of Roma ethnicity.
