Description

Organisational Grant - implementation of the submitted strategy.

The NGO Support Centre’s capacity building plan (organisation’s strategy) for 2022-2025 consists of two main parts: A) A diagnostic part, which includes: - The organisation''s mission and vision, - A diagnosis of the situation and the external potential, - Target groups and their environment, local/regional community, - The organisation''s internal resources, trends, opportunities and threats, - The future of the organisation (in a minimum 3-year perspective), with a risk analysis; and B) A programme part, based on the following strategic objectives defined by the Centre’s team: 1. Broadening the scope of the NGO Support Centre’s statutory activities, 2. Strengthening the NGO Support Centre’s organisational structure, 3. Ensuring the organisation’s financial sustainability for the next three years, 4. Building a system of communication with the organisation’s environment, 5. Expanding the network of partners in the Podlaskie Province, the whole Poland and abroad (EU, EEA, others). The strategy includes objectives and results planned to be achieved within the Active Citizens Fund – Regional grant, as well as other goals that are important for the the NGO Support Centre’s organisational development. We developed the strategy in a participatory manner: our strategy team consisted of two members of the Board and two staff members, including a representative of the Audit Committee. Individual components of the strategy were also consulted with the NGO Support Centre’s team. We wanted the strategy to be a ''living'' document that is known and accepted by the whole team. The SWOT analysis was prepared during a self-evaluation workshop attended by the whole Centre’s team.

Summary of project results

The grant was intended to strengthen the potential of the Non-Governmental Organizations Support Center and support it in implementing its basic mission, i.e. supporting citizen activity.
The challenges posed in the Strategy are:
1. Expanding the offer of OWOP statutory activities
2. Strengthening the organizational structure of the association
3. Ensuring the financial stability of the organization for the next three years
4. Building a system of communicating with the environment
5. Expanding the network of partners in the Podlaskie Voivodeship, in Poland and abroad (EU, EEA, others)

Working teams have been established for the operational implementation of the Development Plan. Teams were established for:

• Participation

• Education

• Communication

• International cooperation

• Community organization (Animation).

All OWOP employees were involved in the group work. The greatest difficulty turned out to be the team''s strategic thinking, working towards a development plan, and getting rid of design thinking. All changes and recommendations in the strategy are introduced by decision of the Management Board after analyzing data from monitoring and evaluation of the strategy. While implementing activities within the strategy - animation activities and activities addressed to the local community, we identified the target group that was not taken into account during the preparation of the strategy: migrants from Belarus and refugees from Ukraine (adults, youth and children) Main activities: social and professional integration and the establishment of non-governmental organizations by foreigners.
Completed:
-consulting and training for non-governmental organizations and initiative groups,
-integration activities for migrants and refugees,
-new training offers launched
By achieving our goal, we have significantly increased the scope of our impact. Many new entities that have not been OWOP clients so far took advantage of the offer.
-internal documents were organized,
- an analysis of training needs was carried out and the principles of employee evaluation were prepared.
- an offer addressed to non-governmental organizations and local government units was prepared.
- premises for the headquarters of OWOP were purchased
-we prepared a fundraising plan and obtained the ISO certificate necessary to enter OWOP into the BUR system. 4
- professionalization of social media profiles,
- a coherent visualization of OWOP was prepared
 - a database of media with which we are in contact was created.
- a series of expert articles on deinstitutionalization was published on the NGO.PL website and podcasts on deinstitutionalization on YouTube
- participation in consultation processes was intensified.

Results achieved:
1. Greater availability of educational services addressed to the sector - 157 unique organizations and initiative groups that benefited from the support of OWOP during the implementation of the grant.
