The project''s objective is to provide support to the functioning of the national asylum and migration management systems by enhancing the effectiveness of the assisted voluntary return (AVR) mechanism.
In Poland, AVR programme has been implemented for 15 years by three institutions: IOM, Office for Foreigners and Border Guard. The currently implemented, by IOM, BG and OfF, assisted voluntary return project (co-financed by the AMIF) includes a very limited number of trainings, with the Border Guard being its only target group. This project from NFM will allow increasement of the knowledge and competences of representatives of Polish governmental and non-governmental institutions from around the country in identifying the needs of vulnerable migrants (incl. victims of trafficking, unaccompanied migrant children, victims of sexual and gender-based violence, the elderly, single parents) will enhance support for these groups.
Activities planned within the project:
- Approx. 38 one-day trainings for representatives of central and local institutions, NGOs, diplomatic missions on assistance in voluntary return (with particular emphasis on identification and support for vulnerable migrants who are in the process of voluntary return
- Two two-day training workshops (training of trainers) developed for the Border Guard trainers. About 28 trainees will participate
- Study visit to Norway (including meetings with institutions such as UDI, ECPAT Norge, ROSA, Bufdir, Flyktningstiftelsen, UteseksjonenUDI, ECPAT Norge, ROSA, Bufdir, Flyktningstiftelsen, Uteseksjonen)
- Support of voluntary returns for approx. 400 foreigners
