"The aim of the the project is to strengthen multicultural environment and make the counseling on discrimination and human rights available through a comprehensive range of activities in several interconnected levels: 1.Increasing the availability of socio-legal counseling and improving the legal awareness of individuals and families with socio-cultural disadvantage with regard to alleviating discrimination and rights violations, 2.Developing the opportunities for dialogue and understanding between the Roma minority and the majority, 3.Support the intercultural education for helping professionals a schools, prevention of prejudice and discrimination and promoting an inclusive approach."

Summary of project results

The aim of the the project was to strengthen multicultural environment and make the counseling on discrimination and human rights available through a comprehensive range of activities in several interconnected levels: We managed to increase the availability of socio-legal counseling and improve the legal awareness of individuals and families with socio-cultural disadvantage with regard to alleviating discrimination and rights violations - counseling was provided in Opava (4 days per week) and Krnov (3 days week). We contributed to the development of dialogue and an opportunity for understanding between the Roma minority and the majority society – we have successfully implemented two actions for a total of 360 people, which in its scope to encompass participants from different corners of the Moravian-Silesian Region - "Dance show" and "Singing and drawing contest with subtitled „What brings people together? " The event was attended by children and their parents, and many organizations operating in the region. Through training in multicultural education, discrimination and human rights and implementation of the conference we supported intercultural education of helping professionals and the development of tolerance in schools, focusing on the prevention of discrimination and prejudice and promote an inclusive approach. There have been realized a total of 10 programs of intercultural education in schools. We managed to implement intercultural skills training (40 hours for 12 workers from NGOs and authorities in the Moravian-Silesian Region). We finished the project through arrangement of „CONFERENCE of mutual understanding", which was attended by 110 experts not only from the region. Participants also had the opportunity to share their experiences on the afternoon workshops.
