Description

SC Autosymed SRL is a startup based in Iasi that was created in 2021 with the goal of developing a computer aided automated heart disease diagnosis solution. The company''s core operation is dedicated to ITC services, which includes bespoke software development (customer-oriented software). The company''s founders have more than 20 years of commercial expertise, as well as a track record of R&D engineering and healthcare projects in many EU nations. They also have around 15 years of expertise developing and deploying proprietary cardiology consulting solutions
in the healthcare industry. A multidisciplinary team includes IT and medical specialists with dozens of years of combined expertise in their respective specialized sectors, such as machine learning, artificial intelligence, and biotechnology.

The main objective of the project is to develop, test and validate the software solution for computer aided automated heart disease diagnosis. The project will lead to establishments of a viable local team focused on R&D activities and commercialization effort of the proposed project idea. It will enable and focus on building a network of relationships with institutions, hospitals and IT department of Ministry of Health in Romania and establish collaborations of medical doctors in various countries to expand the know-how and best practice into new artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) methods. The project will also enable a service for remote method of treatment which in turn will create possibilities for market recognition and monetization.

The concept of AI diagnosis has been developed by the founders in the past 3 years and has been finalized in software working on kidney disease recognition and ordering a certain operation type. By now there have been 14 operations performed with respect to the software diagnosis in a hospital in Krakow, Poland.

Summary of project results

Project’s main scope is to develop, test and validated our software solution for Computer Aided automated heart disease diagnosis.

In the dynamic realm of healthcare and scientific research, an exciting wave of innovation is sweeping across the landscape. At its core lies the development of cutting-edge AI algorithms, poised to transform diagnostics and treatment by decoding intricate medical data. These algorithms are being meticulously trained on vast datasets to enhance their accuracy and efficiency, ushering in a new era of insights and discoveries.

Facilitating collaboration between medical experts and data scientists is a pivotal goal. Innovative applications, fueled by AI, are emerging to bridge the gap between these two domains, streamlining the analysis of medical data and fostering seamless teamwork. Alongside this, anonymized DICOM images have been acquired to empower medical breakthroughs. This transformation is underpinned by substantial investments in cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalability and easy access to applications that hold the promise of reshaping healthcare and scientific research. As teams actively engage in thematic conferences, they remain at the forefront of knowledge, sharing insights and staying abreast of evolving trends. Together, these endeavors represent a dedication to a future where AI and data-driven approaches take center stage, revolutionizing the way we approach healthcare and scientific inquiry.

The project has achieved several significant outcomes, benefitting various stakeholders:

First and foremost, it has paved the way for the establishment of a robust local team dedicated to research and development activities, as well as the commercialization efforts of the project''s innovative concept. This local team is set to become a driving force behind the project''s success.

Furthermore, the project has facilitated the creation of a valuable network of connections with institutes, hospitals, and the IT department of the Ministry of Health in Romania. These collaborations hold the potential to revolutionize the field by bringing together the expertise of medical professionals and data scientists. This network extends internationally, enabling partnerships with medical doctors from various countries, promoting knowledge exchange, and fostering the adoption of cutting-edge AI/ML methods for cardiovascular applications.

In addition, the project''s endeavors have led to the development of a unique solution within the Digital e-Health domain. This solution has the potential to revolutionize healthcare by offering a remote method of treatment, providing patients with unprecedented access to medical care. This, in turn, opens doors to market recognition and opportunities for monetization, offering not only benefits to the project team but also to the broader healthcare industry and, most importantly, patients seeking efficient and accessible healthcare solutions.
