Description

Association “SHIFT” is a young association, founded in Kutina aiming to promote good governance and transparent management and protect whistleblowers in Croatia. The whistleblowers are a marginalized group in Croatia, as well as CSOs dealing with the topic. We have been neglected and left to individual initiatives. With this project we want to strengthen the capacity of CSOs, provide adequate knowledge on leadership and volunteers to work systematically at the local level with marginalized groups and groups whose human rights were violated. With quality education in management and fundraising, we provide a tool to CSOs for further systematic work and sustainability.

Through a public advocacy campaign and an educational-promotional event, we want to encourage networking of related CSOs, sensitize and educate the public, in order to achieve a stronger public perception of whistleblowers as individuals who boldly advocate for the preservation and protection of public interests.

We expect to strengthen the position of the Association Shift, and thus the position of whistleblowers at the local and state level. We believe that the leadership of the association and volunteers will have greater competencies and knowledge of management, positioning and communication and fundraising. By educating the leadership skills, we expect to support new partnerships between associations, and thus the advocacy forces of the marginalized group.

Through the public advocacy campaigns, we will sensitize the general public to the problems of whistleblowers, and we expect greater support from relevant stakeholders (ombudswoman, public, media) to report irregularities, thus strengthening the democratization of society and the importance of transparent and good governance.

We expect that the general public will be more informed and informed about whistleblowing, and that whistleblowers themselves will have an adequate address for receiving informative support in their work.
