Description
The project "Facilitating/ Strengthening Quality Assurance of Workplace-Learning through the Development of Learning Outcomes’ Standardized Assessment Tools" is complementary to the previous project - EVRICA. The database containing assessment items, developed within the EEA funded project EVRICA, will provide the opportunity to carry out unitary evaluations using good quality items tested before being applied on other target groups. The process of continuous improvement of the quality of formative and summative assessment of learning outcomes (LOs) will be complete as it addresses two main components: further development of the assessment items database and grouping and creating the final version of the assessment items, which will be scientifically conducted and statistically analyzed under the "Item Response Theory" using dedicated software. The software is free, accessible and able to provide a wide range of statistical analysis.
Main objective: Continuous support of learning outcomes’ assessment process in order to increase its relevance for the labour market. Specific objectives:
Improving the LOs assessment acquired by students in the practical training stages
Strengthening the school and social partners/labour market partnership in the field learning outcomes’ assessment in initial VET.
The project activities will be attended by 76 people, as follows:
29 people at the first event and
47 people at the second event.
Expected results: 1 set of assessment tools containing at least 66 statistically analyzed tests to be available national wide and published on the "Choose your pathway" website, 50 teachers with competences in the field of LOs assessments and statistical analysis of improved tests, 12 members of CNDIPT staff with improved competences in the field of statistical data analysis, 6 representatives of the social partners with improved competences in assessment, 1 Analysis report performed as a result of testing the assessment tools.
Summary of project results
The results obtained as a result of the project are:- a database containing 70 tests made with tested items- 200 new items, tested under the TRI conditions, which will be added to the item base created in the previous project "Unitary assessment of learning outcomes in order to improve the quality of learning at the workplace"- 1 National analysis report of the item testing process, made as a result of testing the items under TRI conditions- 1 booklet on testing items under TRI conditions using the jMetrik program- 47 teaching staff with advanced skills in the field of assessment and the use of applications dedicated to the statistical analysis of assessment results- 12 people from CNDIPT with improved skills in the field of evaluation of learning outcomes and the use of applications dedicated to statistical analysis, as well as improved knowledge in the field of statistics- 6 representatives of economic operators with improved skills in the field of evaluation of learning outcomesThe existence of the item database and the test collection will provide real support to IPT teachers and practical tutors of economic operators in the process of ensuring the quality of the assessment of learning outcomes, in relation to the requirements of the assessment standards associated with the URI of the SPP.As a result of participating in these workshops, teachers were trained to acquire advanced skills in the field of learning outcomes assessment by practicing item testing under the conditions of Item Response Theory using the jMetrik program, supplementing the knowledge acquired in the previous project "Unitary assessment of learning outcomes" in order to improve the quality of learning at the workplace" in which skills were acquired to test the items under the conditions of the Classical Test Theory. The representatives of economic operators participating in the workshop acquired skills regarding the construction of items and tests and their testing. The training had an impact on special education teachers, continuing, for this target group, the training process in the field of evaluation of learning results through the projects carried out by CNDIPT. The particularities of special education students require increased rigor in how assessment tools are designed and administered.
