Description

The project will increase and develop personal, organizational and expert capacities of women’s rights and LGBT+ organizations in the Czech Republic. It focuses on achieving sustainable change through workshops, strengthening of cooperation, exchange and transfer of local and international theoretical and practical knowledge, skills and experience for specific fields of capacity development and identification, exchange and presentation of good practices.

Summary of project results

The project was designed, initiated and implemented with the ambition to contribute to the development of capacities of women’s rights and LGBT-organizations. In order to accomplish this mission we decided to provide information and tools (in areas such as PR and communication with individual and corporate donors, monitoring and evaluation when acquiring financial and other resources, resource mobilization from international, bilateral and institutional donors) through workshop led by experts from international organizations who have for years been active in the field of human rights development and who possess expert knowledge about the development of the nonprofit sector. The context for this decision was the fact that the region of Central Europe is losing support from international donors despite the increase of negative phenomena such as racism, xenophobia, extremism, and homophobia. In addition, one of the project goal was to strengthen a cooperation between Slovak-Czech Women’s Fund and partnering NGOs. Finally, the project objective was to strengthen the development of our organization as a women’s fund advocating for promoting women’s rights and LGBT+ organizations in the Czech Republic. By this project the awareness and organizational as well professional capacities in the field of PR and communication, monitoring and evaluation and bilateral, international and institutional funding of organizations were increased. Both specific and professional knowledge was gained by professional and experts working in variety of contexts. By using workshop format, a platform for exchange of information, sharing of experience, facilitated discussion and practical exercises was built. The role of NGOs as autonomous subjects and relationship between continuity and innovations implemented inherently in their work as well as their values framing their work was critically discussed.
