Description
The main objective of the project is to increase the energy security supply of energy for Arena Auto showroom and service buildings and to decrease the CO2 emission by using energy produced from geothermal sources. The Arena Auto showroom and service buildings have a number of deficiencies and dysfunctions, which have increased over time. The project proposes to improve the energy efficiency of the Arena Auto buildings and increase indoor comfort by installing geothermal pumps and monitoring the performance obtained.
The technical solution is based on closed circuit heat pumps and energy efficiency measures for the Arena Auto showroom and service buildings. The heat pumps extract their energy from the ground. The groundwater at 90 meters deep has constant heat of 14 ⁰C. By absorbing 5 ⁰C through the heat exchanger, the heat pump transfers heat from the ground water to the building. The heat will be supplied to the existing floor network and convectors for building heat and to the hot water boiler. The complete system will be automatized realized with digital sensors, command, operation automation, and dynamic equilibration of the installation. Key activities include:
- Project management.
- Investments.
- Site supervision.
- Financial audit.
- Publicity to ensure the visibility of the project.
Expected outcomes include an estimated annual CO2 emission reduction of 24 tonnes and 250MWh/year of energy produced from geothermal sources. Two employees will receive appropriate training for this project. The total installed capacity is estimated to be 0,18 MW.
The project will be implemented in partnership with the Romanian company Water Decor SRL. They will design the technical and engineering documentation for the project and also develop the supervisory control and data acquisition system. The system will integrate the installations, parameters and conditions to function in optimal condition for the thermal infrastructure.
Summary of project results
The overall goal of the project was to increase the energy security supply of energy for Arena Auto showroom and service buildings and to decrease the CO2 emission by using energy produced from geothermal sources.

The project was implemented in partnership with the Romanian company Water Decor SRL for designing the technical and engineering documentation for the project and also developping the supervisory control and data acquisition system. The system integrates the installations, parameters and conditions to function in optimal condition for the thermal infrastructure.
