Description

Pagėgiai Municipality Administration together with partners Pagegiai Municipality Family Welfare Center and Public Institution "Lektoriai" will implement the project "Implementation of the Welfare Consultant Model in Pagegiai Municipality".
The aim of the project is to improve prevention and reduce health inequalities in the territory of Pagegiai municipality.
To achieve the goal of the project, the following tasks have been set:
1. Installation of a workplace for a welfare consultant (repair of premises, purchase of furniture, equipment). The renovated cabinet will be able to serve as a place of emotional unloading, the methodological measures planned to be used will help to calm down, alleviate the accumulated fatigue and irritability, and allow to temporarily distancing oneself from the surrounding reality.
2. Increasing the attractiveness of welfare counseling services at the inter-institutional level of the municipality; Inter-institutional co-operation will be encouraged, with the involvement of institutions in expanding the services of welfare counselors in the region, as well as facilitating the involvement of recipients of welfare counseling services in the activities of the institutions.
Well-being advisor services to the project target group; the project will benefit 120 residents of Pagėgiai municipality who have mild signs of stress, anxiety, insomnia, depression and psychological adaptation problems (adults from 18 years).

Summary of project results

Residents of Pagėgiai municipality face health inequalities, experience depression, anxiety, and stress, and there is a lack of psychologist services in the municipality. In addition, people''s education and awareness raising were necessary, because the level of people''s awareness of depression, anxiety, insomnia, and psychological adaptation is very low.

The main activity of the project was the provision of welfare consultant services to the residents of Pagėgiai municipality. The welfare consultant has undergone special training to provide these services. During the implementation of the project, a cabinet was installed for the provision of services (computer equipment and furniture were purchased). Also, great attention was paid to publicizing the service, a publicity campaign was carried out (publicity events (competitions), welfare consultant''s mission in the regional press, welfare consultant''s newspaper, public opinion formation video, welfare consultant''s website and Facebook account, welfare consultant''s educational poster, opinion formation attributes).

Welfare consultant services were provided to residents of Pagėgiai municipality from the age of 18. The project involved 133 residents of Pagegiai municipality who approached the welfare consultant with mild symptoms of anxiety, stress, depression or psychological adaptation. 101 people completed the full counseling course.
