Awareness of natural beauties in the Pardubice region is very low. The objective of this project is to prepare and realise environmental education of children and adults in the new Natura Park, which is focused on nature and its protection with accent on the system Natura 2000 and its localities. The objective will be achieved by using activities focused on the public and school children: Activity 1:Development and realisation of new environmental public events. Activity 2:Environmental programs for schools, realisation and development of new ones. Activity of increasing capacity of the organization: Preparation of sets of self-service equipment for public which will be used in activities without the tutor within the compound of Natura Park. At least 1.400 participants will take part in the public events and at least 10.000 children will participate in school programs. Public will benefit from the project and subsequently nature around the city.
Summary of project results
This project was aimed at environmental education of children and adults in new “Natura-park” in Pardubice city. Project was implemented by environmental educational programs, by educative public events and by courses for experts; focused at following topics: nature, Natura 2000, sustainable development, natural resources and energy savings, and interpersonal relationships. In total we have realized 35 events for 2283 public persons, 510 educational programmes for 10006 school children and cleaning of Chrudimka river banks. We have also created several sets of educational aids for public, which are daily in use. The capacity of our organization was personally enforced by PR manager and a fundraiser. Implementation of Natura-park was an enormous change for our organization and also for environmental education in Pardubice region. The change has included building area, outdoor area, methods of working, type of offered activities, opening hours, target groups and personal stuff. All of this we have managed successfully and Natura-park came into public awareness.
