Description

The realization of this project is essential due to low social awareness in terms of energy efficiency and
environment protection, high energy consumption of this building leading to high CO2 and harmful substances
emission and high maintenance cost. The indicated problems will be solved by a complex thermal modernization of the building,
replacement of lighting with energy-saving and installation of renewable energy sources. Those activities will
be accompanied by an in-depth campaign that would raise the audience awareness regarding energy
efficiency, renewable resources and Donor States aid as well as positive outcomes of using EEA and
Norwegian funds. The main objectives of this project are: improvement of energy efficiency of school building, decrease of use of
primary energy, CO2 emission reduction, improvement of air quality, increase of OZE use
Direct target group: students and school staff. Indirect target group: students’ parents, inhabitants of the
commune and poviat, local government authorities, foreign community.

Summary of project results

Reducing CO2 emissions, improving energy efficiency and using renewable energy

The energy efficiency of the primary school building in Bieganowo improved and consumption was reduced primary energy, reduction of CO2 emissions, improvement of air quality, increase in energy production from sources renewable energy and raising public awareness of energy efficiency.

The result of the project is the improvement of energy efficiency in the primary school building in Bieganowo.

Energy efficiency measures were implemented and a series of campaigns were carried out to raise people''s awareness. Specialists were trained in energy efficiency. The project''s recipients are residents of the Kołaczkowo commune and Września poviat, students, energy experts, teachers and officials.

1. Comprehensive modernization of the heating system:

- Construction of a new heat source - heat pump,

- Construction of supply and return distribution levels of the central heating installation. from multilayer pipes

- Installation of convector heaters

- Installation of automatic air vents and drainage valves,

- Purchase and installation of other fittings, circulation pumps and instrumentation.

2. Construction of a mechanical ventilation system with an efficiency of 90%.

3. Modernization of the domestic hot water preparation system - heat pump.

4. Insulation of external walls

5. Replacement of window joinery

6. Insulation of the flat roof

7. Insulation of external basement walls

8. Insulation of the external walls of the added part of the building

9. Insulation of the flat roof

10. Replacement of door joinery

Scope of work leading to reduction of electricity demand:

1. Construction of a renewable energy installation - photovoltaic installation with a capacity of 49.2 kWp with equipment necessary for operation (including three-phase inverters, solar cables, cabling), cost of installation, adaptation of the electrical installation, lightning protection installation and electrical measurements,

2. Replacement of 410 lighting fixtures and replacement of the electrical installation. Postponed lightning protection installation.

Annual reduction in electricity demand for lighting - 84.16%

Savings in final energy consumption – 244.53 GJ/year

The replacement of lighting installations and lighting fixtures will only take place in the school part of the building.

The photovoltaic installation with a capacity of 49.20 kWp produces electricity only for the needs of the school part of the building.

Summary of bilateral results

Cooperation with the donor countries of Iceland, the Principality of Liechtenstein, and the Kingdom of Norway, represented by the partner Vista Analyse AS, contributed to raising awareness among the residents of the Kołaczkowo Commune and demonstrated the impact of human activities on changes in the natural environment. The funding that the Kołaczkowo Commune benefited from helped mitigate and counteract climate change. The main goal of the cooperation was to reduce economic and social disparities within the European Economic Area and strengthen bilateral relations between the donor countries and the beneficiary state. All activities and collaboration with the partner Vista Analyse AS aimed to raise awareness among the residents about the need to use natural resources rationally, promote savings, and implement modern technologies that will ensure that natural energy serves us longer.
