Description
The aim of the project is to create a comprehensive set of vocational training courses in the field of security management, which will be based on a developed dedicated methodology. The idea behind this is to build a wide ecosystem of schools / companies / universities offering training in this area in the licensing model, which will allow for optimal use and activation of the environment of veterans and seniors of uniformed services. Conscious and responsible management of organizations cannot ignore the issue of security, hence the idea to create a project that will use the experience of former uniformed officers in the realities of the civil world. It is an attempt to introduce a commercial industry standard in the form of a methodology based on the educational potential of the Polish Naval Academy combined with the practical knowledge of selected industry experts. As a result, a standard focused on practical aspects is to be created, profiled for various industries, such as: educational institutions, maritime protection, museums.
It is assumed that a multidisciplinary team of 12 people will be created, which will create a curriculum and all courses that can be implemented in the partner system through regularly organized workshops. The course will be tested by students of security faculties and interaction with industry practitioners at workshops and conferences organized for this purpose (the total number of project participants is 142 people). As a result, a set of courses will be created, addressed both to students and graduates of security studies looking for practical knowledge in the field of security management and practitioners looking for standardized methods of managing civil organizations. In the long term, this will allow the platform of cooperation created by SSAB to be extended to a wider group, creating a community in which it will be possible to exchange experiences and increase the level of security for all of us.
Summary of project results
The project is a bottom-up initiative to standardize risk manag. based on good practices, not sanctioned top-down by the letter of the law.The diagnosis of such a need comes from the assessment of SSAB members in 2008. It was confirmed during the implementation of expert opinions commissioned by public institutions in 2016-2020.The idea is that to create a prof. training course in the field of security manag., identification of threats and as a result protection plans of facilities, and then regularly evaluate them, using good practices of creating training based on proprietary methodologies.Supported by the appropriate methodology, it will allow to increase the level of public security and avoiding threats, the inflow of which we can expect. In this respect, it was natural to use the potential of veterans of uniformed services and civil administration, which this project started to stimulate as intended (13 industry experts took part in it, including 6 vets of uniformed services). The need to develop a new methodology also resulted in the inclusion of the academic community -field of security sciences (4 experts with PhD and 2 reviewers with associate and university professors). One of the identified needs of the security market is the lack of standardization, which would give the opportunity to raise the knowledge of a wide group of specialists and allow optimization of tools used in security, providing a publicly available reference point with a coherent situation assessment system. As a result of the project, an educational course adapted to be popularized by a wide group of educational institutions was created. Thanks to the dissemination activities undertaken (industry presentations, project conferences, workshops for students), SSAB began the process of acquiring edu. institutions in order to create a network of institutions offering the developed course. Talks are held in Poland and abroad (PM, Grupa Medium, Danube Univ., MMW, MSPow. - after participating, they declared their willingness to implement the solution).Students of security and crisis manag. are an important group of recipients of the project''s results - 50 students took part in the workshops and conferences. SSAB sees this project as an important development step. This is a breakthrough innovation, because it creates the need for training according to the standard set, shaped and continuously adapted to the changing realities by the scientific and expert community, not legal regulations.
