Description
OBJECTIVE:
Contribute to the development of a platform for exchange of experience and contacts for Polish and Norwegian artists and partners who have the need to establish artistic collaboration with partners from Europe, persons willing to improve their competences in the field of their artistic and educational activities, develop their own creativity and actively participate in the cultural and creative industry.
OPERATIONAL GOALS:
- 39 cultural and educational events to be organized in Poland and Norway;
- two new compositions and two ensembles co-produced by musicians from Norway and Poland, presented at international festivals of jazz and contemporary music;
- create a musical, educational and artistic project of a social nature with participation of persons/artists from Poland and Norway and involving people excluded due to hearing and visual impairments, as well as ethnic and national minorities (e.g. children from Ukraine) etc.
EVENTS:
- organization of Avant Art Festival Warsaw event (2 concerts);
- creation of a new piece of musical work entitled "Hidros 9" (featuring 27 well-known European musicians, mainly Norwegian and Polish ones) - the world premiere of the work will take place during the Avant Art Festival in Warsaw, and its first foreign performance will take place during the Oslo Jazz Festival;
- 5 concerts of "Ensemble in ensemble" (concerts of music inspired by Scandinavian and Polish folk music using folk instruments, based on graphic scores);
- a series of 8 mini-concerts during Warsaw Avant Art Festival in October 2022;
- 4 exhibitions of graphic scores "PIECES of Peace" Fire!, 1 exhibition of paintings by Mathias Pöschl entitled "Hidros o.T" (2019) and "Hidros 9" (2021), inspired by graphic scores;
- organization of AVANT ART FESTIVAL NORWAY 2023, i.e. 16th edition of the festival entirely dedicated to Norwegian art (5 concerts);

Summary of project results
The following needs, problems and challenges facing the cultural and creative sectors have been defined:

Project includesd 39 events to which Beneficiary and Partners invited 70 artists, lecturers, curators and specialists, including 31 Norwegian artists and 10 people representing Norwegian partners, including 3 main curators of the project. The artistic part included not only the production of cultural events but also the creation of new bands (Hidros 9 and Ensemble in ensemble) that performed the commissioned composition. To perform those compositions, curators invited 32 renowned and experienced European musicians, mostly from Norway and Poland.
The educational part of the project included 4 parts focused on training and education: including workshops for musicians, classes for children and teenagers, includin Ukrainian, production of Impossible Music - workshops and showcases of the work with the disabled people and debates. Results: creation of new compositions and new bands. Recording and releasing most of the concerts on vinyl, publishing the concerts online. Making the project a part of 3 European festivals: the Avant Art Festival Warsaw and Wrocław, the CODES Festival in Lublin, and the Jazz Oslo Festival, additionally event at Sacrum Profanum Festival in Cracow. After 2023, Beneficiary and Partners will continue the concerts of the ensembles created by the project.
Within the project:
- 52 artistic events were carried out as a result of cooperation with partner institution under the project (22 music and performing arts events, 3 fine arts and visual arts events, 2 creative sector dedicated events, 9 cultural and artistic education events, 1 event aimed at the inclusion of ethnic and national minorities, 14 events improving the cultural competences of audiences);
- 2 220 people attended the cultural and artistic events organized by the project
- 24 professional staff were trained
- 4000 promotional materials were prepared
- 8 media patrons ( Gazeta Wyborcza , PR 2, Radio 357, The Wire, Nowa Muzyka ,SZUM Undertone, oraz Glissando)
The place of the implementation location: Wrocław, Warszawa Lublin, Oslo, Trondheim, Kraków.
Summary of bilateral results
The project was a resulted of the co-operation of 5 organizations: the Oslo Jazz Festival, ny Mussikk, Nasjonal Jazzscene Victoria and Ośrodek Międzykulturowych Inicjatyw Twórczych “Rozdrożę”, organizer of the CODES Festival (Lublin) and the Avant Art Foundation, the producer of the Avant Art Festival Wrocław and Warsaw, the project leader.
