Description

Educational institutes have multiple roles, one of them may be identified as shaping the future of labour force, but an outstanding issue is how to assure constantly the readiness of the graduate students to enter the labour market with up-to-date knowledge. That for the information regarding the actual industrial trends are necessary to be provided for the students, because they are the future employees, who will work with and within the advanced technologies. Any technological advancement is influencing the performance of organizations in a positive way, which therefore affects the employees’ productivity and performance, but it is true in the opposite way also. The Industry 4.0 paradigm has a key role in the productivity and competitiveness of the SME’s around the world, and it must be applied in our region too. The intelligent manufacturing (also known as smart manufacturing) is a broad concept of manufacturing with the purpose of optimizing production and product transactions by making full use of advanced information and manufacturing technologies. The University Sapientia of Cluj-Napoca, wants to be not only a key role player for labour force supply, but also a solid partner in the innovative thinking. Therefore, for our MSc students it is mandatory to well understand the intelligent manufacturing process. Through this mobility project, the Department of Mechanical Engineering from the applicant HEI, will acquire from his DS Partner (UiT The Arctic University of Norway) know-how, with which he will assure a short term, as well a long term development to fulfil the stated mission. The short-term benefits will be through the student mobility, so students will obtain a guided practical experience in the labs of the DS Partner in the form of traineeships. Parallel to this action, the mobility of the teaching and administrative staff to and from DS will assure the know-how transfer for the long term development needed for sustainability of the post project period.
