Description

Sumel Group makes metal components for beds, wheelchairs and seats for people with disabilities, as well as complete solutions for those people. The aim of the project is to develop and implement innovative products: two types of bed lifts with automatic mobility functions for obese, disabled or elderly people. To minimise the feeling of mobility restrictions in such patients and to support people who look after them, the lifts must be stable, resistant, with high load-bearing capacity and functionality. Our product will be particularly appreciated by people who spend a lot of time in bed and require various treatments. Changing the rake angle of the mattress in its various parts allows optimum user positioning for any treatment or activity.

We will develop an XL lift (length of 1.96 m, 2 motors) and an LL lift (length of 1.96 m, 1 motor) which will have higher load-bearing capacity and stability than the devices offered in the market so far. Owing to greater dimensions, it will be possible to add accessories to lifts to increase the comfort level. Our surveys show that it is a solution expected on the European market and especially on the German market where the majority of our products are sold, and where the highest safety standards of the design, including the drive and automation units, are required.

Project expenditures include the purchase of equipment and software necessary to start production and, in the first place, the purchase of advisory services to develop the new products.

Summary of project results

The project aimed to address various challenges and enhance the competitiveness of SUMEL GROUP by developing and implementing product innovations in the form of bed lifts designed for individuals dealing with obesity, disabilities, and the elderly. The primary goal was to improve the quality of life for the most vulnerable segments of society, specifically catering to the needs and enhancing the quality of life for elderly and disabled individuals. The project focused on creating innovative solutions, such as bed lifts, to meet the unique requirements of these target groups. Ultimately, the initiative sought to contribute to the overall well-being of these individuals while simultaneously boosting the competitiveness of SUMEL GROUP in the market.

The project resulted in a significant enhancement of the entrepreneur''s skills, knowledge, and competencies essential for sustaining and advancing their business activities. The achieved outcomes facilitated the continuous development of the company by aligning its offerings with the specific market requirements. These accomplishments fortified the company''s position in the industry and heightened its visibility, ultimately contributing to an increase in the competitiveness of the firm. Furthermore, the project played a pivotal role in boosting the company''s revenues.

The project yielded significant results with positive impacts on various aspects. Firstly, there was a notable increase in turnover, indicating the project''s success in generating financial growth. Additionally, the initiative led to a rise in employment, contributing to the expansion of job opportunities within the company.

Moreover, the project focused on enhancing working conditions through measures such as expanding workspace and acquiring equipment to improve the quality of work and safeguard the health of employees. These improvements not only benefited the workforce but also created a more conducive and efficient working environment.

Furthermore, the project successfully upgraded material management by refining warehouse operations, thereby optimizing material resources and enhancing overall efficiency.

The primary beneficiaries of these outcomes are older individuals and people with disabilities who require optimal bed lift solutions to significantly improve their quality of life. The solutions developed through the project prioritize stability, durability, load-bearing capacity, and functionality. This ensures that patients, users, and caregivers experience minimal movement restrictions, especially for those spending extended periods in bed or requiring various medical procedures. The ability to adjust the mattress''s incline in different sections allows for optimal positioning, catering to the specific needs of individuals in need of care. Overall, the project''s results have positively impacted both the economic and social aspects, contributing to the well-being of the targeted beneficiaries.
