Description
The project "Improving the training stages in correlation with the requirements of the European labor market" is carried out by the Technical College "George Baritiu" in Baia Mare in collaboration with ONEDIN SRL Baia Mare, in response to the need of increasing the quality of internships conducted by VET learners at the workplace, so as to increase the chances of vocational school graduates integration into the labor market.
The objectives of the project are:
O1. Improving the quality and relevance of education and training
O2. Cooperation and partnerships between education and the labor market
The project will include a 5-day study visit of 11 Romanian participants (8 from PP and 3 from partner company) to the Instituto de Educação Técnica (INETE) in Lisbon, with 40 hours of activities aimed mainly at observing how students from a VET school in Portugal do the training stages in 3 companies in the field of Automation Electronics.
The competences acquired by the participants in the project to increase the quality of internships at work, will be validated through Europass mobility documents signed by INETE, which will be handed to participants on the last day of the study visit.
The participants to study visit will develop and test documents and tools that will improve the quality of practical training courses conducted by VET students at the Technical College "George Baritiu", offering the school graduates increased opportunities for integration into the labor market: 1 international partnership carried out in accordance with ECVET technical specifications, 2 revised Local Decision Curricula (CDL) and 1 new CDL made to improve the quality of internships at work, 1 guide for evaluating the learning outcomes obtained by students in internships.
Summary of project results
The project achieved its objectives, was relevant for the intended target groups and for the partner institutions, managing to address the identified needs well. The objectives were achieved and all the proposed results were achieved, at a satisfactory level of quality. The following results were obtained:
• All 8 teachers participating in the study visit declared that they developed skills/competences.
• The 3 representatives of the partner economic agent participating in the study visit declared that they have developed skills regarding the organization of students'' internships.
• A total of 11 people participated in the study visit.
• There are no Roma students in the school.
Tangible results:
o 3 Local Development Curricula CDL (revised) for the 9th, 10th and 11th grades, Devices and equipment electrician qualification, level 3, Electronics-automation field
o a methodical guide for tutors with examples of good practice in the design and delivery of work-based learning activities and with practical activity assessment tools for CDL modules for grades 9, 10 and 11, the said qualification ;
o a Memorandum of Understanding with the practice partner.
• 411 students (85.27%), out of the total number of 482 students in the VET classes, declared that they obtained better learning results during the internships than in previous years.
The project led to the improvement of the applicant''s collaboration capacity at the European level and at. continuing cooperation with transnational partners. The project activities were carried out as presented in the application.
