Description

The project, will develop territorially in the northern coastal area of the island of S. Miguel-Azores. The focus of the project will be on two properties that need to be safeguarded, restored and re-adapted to new functions. The first property, a building dating from the 16th century, located in the parish of Fenais da Luz, in the northern part of Ponta Delgada, is known as the Casa do Dízimo (House of Tithing), and already in the process of being classified. The property will become a Center for the Knowledge of Coastal Heritage and Development. The second property is a centennial plan school, built in 1950, in urgent need of preventive conservation and rehabilitation, is located in Lombinha da Maia, a small town near Maia (Ribeira Grande), with an important panoramic view over the coastal landscape. The building is already in the process of classification of municipal interest, whose functional adaptation will welcome a Cultural Incubator for Entrepreneurship and Innovation of Traditional Gastronomy.
