Description

We will create the plan for the restoration of greenery in our village Radotín through the public discussion. The project is essential because the trees and bushes are being cut and not restore by our municipal office. Thanks to this project citizens will get the possibility to participate in public decision-making. Our project aims to arouse the interest of village''s greenery and the ecology and environment in general. The expected results are involvement of citizens in decision-making processes and the specific plan for greenery restoration, what is going to be implemented by the citizens, which will be responsible for this realization. The main activities include - field research, public survey, public discussion with environmental expert etc.

Summary of project results

The overall impact was an increase in public interest in greenery in the cadastre of the village. For the first time, the indirect effect was an opportunity for citizens to participate in decision-making processes. Throughout the association''s existence, we have been trying to show citizens that they can decide on their surroundings by participating in public debates. And since our council does not organize them and has no open interest in them, we have organized them now. So far, we have not been able to solve the cause of the problem, ie the unconceptual management of greenery in the village. The council does not want to cooperate with our association at any level, neither the financial support of our events, nor the presence at events organized by us, nor their promotion. Citizens are still afraid to come to any of our events to be "seen". The positive impact is at least that the completed questionnaires and drawn maps have returned to us, albeit anonymously. We are not able to eliminate the cause, ie the uneconomical and unecological use of greenery in the municipality, until people in the council are willing to listen to us. And we also failed to solve another cause of the problem, namely the non-organization of public debates by the council and the failure to listen to the public. However, a side effect of our project is that we have shown representatives and citizens that listening to the public is desirable and, with the help of a facilitator, it is also easier and more beneficial. The benefit was the clarification that we must actively go to this year''s elections, because the behavior of the deputies towards the citizens is unacceptable. After 30 years, change must come, because the deputies think that the municipality itself and the citizens can only do what they are allowed to do, and the activity is also not welcome. The members of the association clarified who wants to focus more on community projects and who has the courage to go into communal politics.
