The project contributes to building the capacity of 50 community centres in the network of AGORA Platform to face the challenges related to Covid-19 by developing guidelines and policies for work in “the new normal” mode, work in the digital environment, as well as by applying new approaches to the target groups. The goal is to keep the community centres working actively in a situation of a crisis and help them recover from it through online sharing of various views via discussions on topics focused on: 1) what we do (sharing the experience of community centres about how they fared through the crisis, how they “responded”, the measures they adopted); 2) what they did for the others (a survey, translation and sharing experience from other countries in the field of culture and communities about dealing with the pandemic); 3) what we can improve (introducing new approaches and good practices in our work based on shared experience, both from community centres, as well as from abroad, creating new policies for work in a different environment, digitalization of information, services and artefacts; opportunities for online jobs). The outcomes: the teams of 50 community centres will be trained to work with Zoom, 8 thematic webinars will be held, experience and practices will be shared, developed policies, rules, guidelines for work of cultural organizations in the “new normal” mode, a brochure with the results in thematic areas, visual stories with added value will be created: new YouTube products and services. The target groups are local civil society organizations, 50 community centres, and the end beneficiaries will be the general public in 50 localities, mainly children, young and elderly people.
Summary of project results
The main goal of the project was to build the capacity of 50 community centers in the AGORA Platform network to meet the challenges related to Covid-19 by developing guidelines and policies for working in the new normal mode, working in a digital environment, as well as applying new approaches to the target groups.
The project achieved the set goals and contributed to building the capacity of 50 community centers in the AGORA network through the participation of the community center teams in 7 thematic webinars (18 online sessions), 1 training (3 sessions) for working in the Zoom environment and the creation by the participants of 24 visual narratives promoted through the newly created YouTube channel DAR.
For those community centers that do not have their own place on the Internet (they are not present on social networks, they do not have a website), the DAR channel is a unique opportunity to be represented. For the rest, it is a motivation to participate with their own stories, and for those who already have their own channel on YouTube, it is an excellent opportunity to be connected to a network.
The target groups are the teams of 50 NPs, and those who, for various reasons, could not participate had access to the recordings of all webinars. The end users are the general public in 50 settlements, mostly children, youth and elderly people who participate in the activities of the community center and/or are part of the presented visual narratives.
