Summary of the results

The initiative strengthened the role of mentally ill patients by sharing experiences with the involvement of peer consultants in psychiatric departments in the Czech Republic and Norway.

Possibilities of expanding the practice of involving peer consultants in acute care in the Czech Republic were identified. These possibilities were recorded in the key output from the implementation of the initiative, which is the Preliminary Analysis of Barriers to the Engagement of Peer Consultants in Acute Care in the Czech Republic. Thanks to the implementation of the initiative, a preliminary agreement was concluded on cooperation between the recipient, the Norwegian partner and 2 psychiatric hospitals (PN Bohnice and PN Opava) on the introduction of peer consultants into the acute care of these hospitals.
