Project goals are to contribute to the continuing decrease in the share of non-learning 18-24-year-olds who are not studying and with a low level of education in Viljandi County and throughout Estonia as well as to create diverse opportunities in the Viljandi Vocational Training Centre for the continuation of the education for young people with a low level of education and who belong to a risk group or developing readiness to enter the job market.
Project results: include 36 students who have completed the vocational orientation curriculum over the course of 2 academic years and at least half of them have started to study in vocational education in the initial study curriculum or have headed to work.
Summary of project results
Project goal was to contribute to the continuing decrease in the share of non-learning 18-24-year-olds who are not studying and with a low level of education in Viljandi County and throughout Estonia as well as to create diverse opportunities in the Viljandi Vocational Training Centre for the continuation of the education for young people with a low level of education and who belong to a risk group or developing readiness to enter the job market.
Through years 2021-2024, Viljandi Vocational Training Centre carried out 3 shorter 30 EKAP and 3 longer 60 EKAP vocational orientation programmes, with altogether 78 students participating and 51 finishing with a diploma. 60 students have either continued studying a concrete profession of their liking or have entered the labour market.
Viljandi Vocational Training Centre is continuing with the vocational oreintation programme. For academic year 2024/2025, two study groups of a longer 60 EKAP programme is opened. Public awareness on vocational orientation programme has risen and it has resulted as a success for the students who have participated in the programme to make more concious and individual skills focused decisions regarding one''s career choices.
