Description

The main objective of the project is execution of works on the rehabilitation of the public lighting system in order to reduce energy consumption and decrease CO2 emission by replacement of discharge lamps in high pressure sodium vapor with LED lamps.
The technical solution proposes replacing the existing bodies with 2.590 efficient luminaries, with LED''s. The lighting fixtures with the LED technology will be connected to the already installed and existing electrical conductors. All lighting fixtures will be equipped with dimmable drivers and will be integrated into the remote management system. The total length of the electric street lighting network included in the project is 101 km. Key activities include:

  • External consultancy which includes the technical aspect and the financial audit.
  • Investment activities in relation to the modifications.
  • Publicity to ensure the visibility of the project.

Expected outcomes include a reduction of energy consumption by 663.60 MWh. CO2 equivalent emission reduction per year is estimated around 268.18 tonnes.
The project is implemented in partnership with the Norwegian company Keytouch Technologies AS. They are becoming one of Norway''s leading producers of energy efficiency solutions where they focus on energy efficiency, technology systems, LED indicators, environmental policy, evaluation and adaptation. They will have the role of defining and implementing a model of energy efficiency project in public lighting, together with the municipality, by merging Norwegian expertise in the field with Romanian expertise through meetings and experience exchange.
