Description

Waybiller is an e-waybill software that helps you create and store your digital waybills and track your vehicles carrying freight. The general goal of the project initiated by Waybiller OÜ is to further develop a digital waybill software based on modern, innovative technologies and lean principles that enable to implement Waybiller.com with shorter deployment period, lower costs and flexible functionality. As an outcome of the project, construction and agriculture industries in the target markets of Waybiller OÜ, including Estonia and Norway, should be moving towards a digital solution, saving both natural and economical resources. A digital waybill software eliminates the need to manually fill out physical copies of waybills that reduces the time and effort throughout the transportation cycle and brings the paper costs of the transport companies to a minimum, which in turn has a positive impact on the natural environment.

The main target group of the development project is companies in the business field of agriculture and construction, who need to transport solid bulk goods by road. The main value proposition of Waybiller.com to their customers is the reduction of resources, those including time and human resources, as the shipments can be monitored digitally in real time.

The project will be carried out with a Norwegian partner Uppercase AS. Uppercase AS is a digital agency that takes part in the product development and design process. This partnership will bring together Estonian and Norwegian developers, IT architects, analysts, testers and designers. The partnership helps to share knowledge and experience in the SaaS development, digital waybill and road transport sector in Estonia and in Norway to potentially create synergies within the sectors in both countries.

Summary of project results

Project addressed the manual administration and abundance of paper documentation in transport sector as its main challenge. A digital waybill software eliminates the need to manually fill out physical copies of waybills that reduces the time and effort throughout the transportation cycle and brings the paper costs of the transport companies to a minimum. By moving to an electronic format, the three parties involved in each shipment (shipper, carrier, receiver) benefit from increased overall efficiency of logistics, resulting in increased economic competitiveness. All Waybiller users will have a real-time overview of all shipments, drivers will be able to create e-waybills on the go, and all comprehensive data is in Excel reports on all waybills to monitor the location of each shipment in real-time.

Several important functionalities were made in Waybiller product development:
- Diversification of product groups: Initially focused on exports, Waybiller expanded its support to various product groups, including milk transport, demonstrating adaptability and market responsiveness.
- Mobile App: The introduction of a mobile app added convenience and accessibility to users, improving the overall user experience.
- CMR Support: Comprehensive support for CMR was integrated, streamlining international road transport documentation.
Weighing System Integration: Waybiller has an integrated weighing system, an important feature in industries that require accurate measurements to meet transportation requirements.
- Interface with the Estonian Traffic Register: An interface with the Estonian Traffic Register was created, which facilitates smooth integration and compliance with local traffic regulations.
- Overweight Notifications: The introduction of overweight notifications increases compliance and ensures compliance with transport regulations.
- Hourly Work Support: Managers can now track hourly work, improving efficiency and providing additional transparency.

The Green ICT project has been a successful journey for Waybiller, driving the company towards sustainable growth and market relevance. The successful use of EAS support has not only enabled the company to exceed turnover expectations, but has also enabled Waybiller to respond to the dynamic demands of the Norwegian market. Developments made during the project period highlight Waybiller''s commitment to innovation, efficiency and customer satisfaction. The solution helped to reduce the transport sector''s CO2 footprint, energy consumption, created new jobs and increased the company''s turnover.

Waybiller strategically aligned its product development efforts with the requirements of the export market. A number of changes were made to improve overall product capability, ensure compliance and improve competitiveness. Negotiations took place with several customers, including Eikland Stein and Ramlo Transport, and Nærøysund Kraftbetong was successfully closed, demonstrating the company''s ability to meet the needs of the local market.
