Description

Project''s aim is to improve the system of implementing student placements at practical fields of studies at the University of Silesia. 3 complementary outputs will be created to achieve this goal: - guidelines on formal issues related to the implementation of placements (output 1); - e-publication entitled Code of good professional practice at practical studies. Opinions, inspirations, exemplifications (output 2); - a film presenting good examples of student placements (output 3). In the project 2 dissemination events will be organised – a congress and a conference. An important element of the project that determines its innovation is the fact that all outputs will be developed in cooperation with representatives of 3 groups of recipients: students, entrepreneurs and university employees, which will ensure the synergy effect. The project will be created within the framework of cross-sectoral and international partnership and will be implemented in accordance with the PCM methodology.

Summary of project results

The main aim of the project was to strengthen relations between the University of Silesia and external stakeholders, primarily employers who could organize high-quality internships for students of practical-oriented fields of studies.  This assumption has been fully implemented. The project was a response to needs diagnosed at the stage of project creation, related to the strengthening of professional practice as a key element of students'' education at fields of studies with a practical profile.
Thanks to the project activities, 3 results of intellectual work have been produced:

- result 1 Electronic publication entitled Procedures, regulations, documents - professional practice at university studies of practical profile;

- result 2 Electronic publication entitled Code of good professional practice at university studies of practical profile. Opinions, inspirations, exemplifications, consisting of 3 parts, which present the practices from 3 perspectives: of the student, the university and the practitioner;

- result 3 - a film presenting examples of good organization of practices, which bring benefits and meet the expectations of all parties.

The project contributed to the strengthening of intersectoral partnerships in order to develop institutional cooperation in vocational education, build local networks of partnerships, exchange of intersectoral experiences, and develop vocational education in response to changing economic and social needs. The implementation of the project allowed to improve management in the education sector - in terms of implementation of vocational training activities and cooperation with employers.  Both the results and impact of the project have a long-term character.

Summary of bilateral results

The project has benefited from the Norwegian partner''s experience in implementing quality systems and working in a business environment.The implementation of joint project activities was a very interesting experience for the consortium members. The members of the project team at the University of Silesia have cooperated with a Norwegian company for the first time, while for Streit Sagt the joint project has been the first experience in the education sector with a Polish entity. For ŚTM, on the other hand, the implementation of the project has allowed to gain new experience, both in terms of project transnational cooperation and in cooperation with the university. Members of the team gained / strengthened their language skills and competences related to work in an international environment.The 2-year realization of joint activities led to the improvement of knowledge and understanding of different perspectives of cooperation between the business and the education sector, also in the international dimension. It is planned to continue cooperation in the implementation of further projects / initiatives. The project has contributed to reducing economic and social differences within the European Economic Area and strengthening bilateral relations between Poland and Norway.
