Description

Τhe project will provide support to unemployed migrants, refugees and asylum seekers residing in Attiki, aged 15-67 or the same groups out of education or vocational training. The objective is supporting equal access for them to labor market and formal and non-formal education and vocational training. Special interventions will be implemented for women and unaccompanied minors aged 15-18.

This project is considered essential since, from the State’s perspective, there is no provision to support access, primarily, into labor marker, while, in 2017, unemployment for the working-age population among Third Country Citizens was 10% higher than the general population in Greece (Eurostat, 27/11/2018). And, when individuals are employed, this is in great numbers undocumented and does not utilizes the work experience and education of the individual. (Resource: “Labour Market Integration of Third-Country Nationals in EU Member States-Synthesis Report for the EMN Study”, EMN, 02/2019). Secondly, access and remaining in formal education is quite reduced for people over 15 years old and adults (empirical data), encouraging unskilled, temporary and undocumented work. Moreover, there is lack of information in terms of advocacy by those groups themselves amidst discrimination and inequalities. Additionally, due to reduced access to formal and vocational education, non-formal opportunities along with entrepreneurship support, especially for women, who usually do not possess work experience, are considered significant.

The activities of project are: 1. Career Counselling 2. Career Guidance 3. Development of the Companies’ Network “Diversity in the Workplace” 4. Greek lessons 5. Advocacy training program 6. Mentoring program for unaccompanied minors to boost school attendance 7. Women’s Social Entrepreneurship program 8. Peer Learning program.
