Description

The project aimed to improve work-life balance and promote gender equality, not only within the industrial sectors but also in institutions and organizations. It sought to strengthen social dialogue and act as a catalyst for gender equality and better working conditions. The main deliverable of the project was a technological platform designed to deploy training actions for workers in these sectors, raising awareness about gender equality. These digital tools and platforms could easily be applied to other sectors and used by institutions to foster social dialogue on these topics. The tools also promoted the participation and training of women in the industrial sector, enabling them to take part in national strategies, systems, and policies that promoted work-life balance and gender equality.

The project had the following activities:

  • Research, data collection and analysis
  • Creation of an online platform
  • Communications event
  • National workshops
  • Creation of a technology collaborative site and mobile platforms
  • Trainings
  • Awareness raising campaigns and seminars
  • Final conference

Summary of project results

The project aimed to address the challenges of gender inequality and work-life balance within industrial sectors. It focused on empowering gender equality not only within the workforce but also within institutions and organizations to strengthen social dialogue. The project sought to tackle the low representation of women in industrial sectors, the lack of awareness about gender equality, and the need for better work-life balance conditions. By promoting participation and training of women, the project aimed to foster gender equality and improve work-life balance through national strategies, systems, and policies.

The project implemented several key activities to achieve its goals. It began with research, data collection, and analysis to understand the current state of gender equality in industrial sectors. An online platform and a technology collaborative site were created to deploy training actions and share good practices. The project organized national workshops, training sessions, and awareness-raising campaigns to educate and empower employees, trade union representatives, and employers. A final conference was held to summarize the project''s achievements and discuss future plans. The project also developed digital tools and platforms that can be applied to other sectors to foster social dialogue on gender equality and work-life balance.

The project successfully supported gender equality and the implementation of work-life balance in industrial sectors. It improved the training and participation of women in institutions and promoted gender equality through research and developed tools. The analysis of the situation of women in the industrial sector, based on surveys, led to recommendations that were presented to Arcelormittal''s top management. These recommendations were proposed to be included in the company''s internal policy, aiming to increase the proportion of women in the workforce, eliminate discrimination, and improve equal opportunities. The project completed all activities, with 120 participants attending various workshops. The online tools for sharing good practices and e-learning content were published and are now available. The project had a direct impact on the project promoter''s organization, leading to a new initiative to double the number of women in managerial positions and address discrimination. The primary beneficiaries were employees in industrial sectors, trade union representatives, and employers, who gained increased awareness and tools to promote gender equality and work-life balance.
