The number of car owners is constantly growing in Europe as well as globally. According to studies, 74% of European car owners wash their car only in professional carwashes and each car is washed annually 10.5 times on average. However, traditional carwashes consume a vast amount of water and use chemicals, which are not environmentally friendly – stationary handwashes, consume 200 litres, wash-tunnels 150 litres and self-service car washes 100 litres of water per car.
UpSteam has developed a mobile car wash service that is provided with washing van in the location suitable for the customer. The car can be washed at the client’s house, at work during business hours etc and the washing process is with low impact to the environment – water consumed per car is 5-20 litres and chemicals used are eco-friendly. When waterless technology (in development) will be used, only apporx 1 litre of water will be used per car. The objective of the development project is to develop the business of UpSteam further and provide complete set of services, including in addition to carwash also car maintenance. However, in order to do so, a comprehensive IT solution (platform) will be developed.
The main beneficiary groups of this project will be business customers who will be able to track their services and car fleet as well as manage their cost in the developed system and private customers who will have more convenient user experience and wider set of services.
