Description

NFM UP – North Framework Mobility of the University of Primorska will contribute to reducing social and economic disparities and strengthening inter-institutional co-operation with partner institutions in the field of education and in the form of student and staff mobility, exchange of experts and networking. This project specifically supports the mobility experience and knowledge transfer in cooperation with the following partners from Norway and Iceland: University of Oslo, UiT The Arctic university of Norway, Tromso University, Nordtrondelag University College, Stord Haugesund University College, Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Buskerud and Vestfold University College (Norway), Lillehammer University College, University of Iceland, Norwegian University of Life Sciences, and Norsk Treteknisk Institut. By participating in the mobility of students and staff the University strives to enhance professional and academic knowledge and skills in the participating countries, which in turn contributes to improving the economic and social potential of the individual and, speaking broadly, the strengthening of social capital. Within the project, UP will try to reach the objectives of EEA and NFM on reducing social and economic disparities and strengthening inter-institutional cooperation with partner institutions from eligible countries in the field of education by student and staff mobility, exchange of experts and networking. By participating in the mobility, participants will improve professional and academic knowledge and skills and consequently their economic and social potential.

Summary of project results

Within the project, UP reached the objectives of EEA and NFM on reducing social and economic disparities and strengthening inter-institutional cooperation with partner institutions from eligible countries in the field of education by student and staff mobility, exchange of experts and networking. By participating in the mobility, participants improved professional and academic knowledge and skills and consequently their economic and social potential. The objective was, in accordance with the University Strategy, to increase the number of international mobility of students and staff and strengthen cooperation among partners. Participants in mobility gained new experiences, knowledge, business and personal contacts in the international environment; consequently they are enabled to raise the quality of work at the home institution. The project was very successful. Both staff and students have established contacts with institutions in foreign countries, gained new knowledge and experiences. The internationalization of the working environment and the increasing integration of Slovenian institutions in international flows require active cooperation with foreign partners. The main benefit was to facilitate mobility of students and staff in order for the participants to gain knowledge about foreign institutions, countries and their good practices with high professional standards.

Summary of bilateral results

The donors’ contribution was in giving us the possibility to reach our goals by providing us the funds for enabling mobility of students and staff. They also provided us with necessary information on possibilities of host institutions. New opportunities for cooperation with our country and our institution. The goal is to strengthen cooperation and participation in joint projects, which will further reduce economic and social disparities between involved countries. The wider effects of mobility are visible in a more intensive cooperation among partner institutions in the countries of donors, cooperation among international offices as well as on the pedagogical level. It is a mutual transfer of good practices among different institutions.
