Description

The proposed project aims at intensifying the cooperation between University of Economics, Prague (VSE) and 3 Norwegian partner universities in the student and staff mobility. The cooperation is based on long-term relationship especially in student mobility within Erasmus+ programme. This project focuses on broadening the opportunities for student mobility by including other types of mobilities such as summer schools or providing additional support for students from disadvantaged groups such as those coming from underprivileged socioeconomic background. Furthermore, staff mobility is planned as well especially training of staff involved in international relations. This type of staff training will multiply the positive effects on student mobility services and internationalization at all institutions.
Within this projects student exchanges with all partner universities are planned - 2 Norwegian students for one term to VŠE, 8 VŠE students for one term to Norway (preferably those coming from underprivileged socioeconomic background) and 8 VŠE students for summer schools in Norway (2-4 weeks).
Furthermore, staff exchanges of 2 staff for one week training is also included. Within this project all partners will implement the same high quality standards of student mobility services as in other mobility projects. Staff mobility included in this project is mainly focused on training staff involved in international relations by sharing best practices, mapping new trends in internationalization such as digitalisation etc. and other tips for improving support services for student mobility on the whole. Norwegian partners are welcomed to join Prague International Week - intensive one week training for international relations officers organised by VŠE International Office on yearly basis.

Summary of project results

Cooperation between Prague University of Economics and Business and three Norwegian partner universities was based on a long-term relationship formed in particular in the area of student mobility within the Erasmus+ programme. The project supported by the EEA Grants focused on the broadening of student mobility opportunities by including summer schools and providing additional support to students from disadvantaged groups. Unfortunately, the project was strongly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic as a result of which the planned summers schools and the majority of staff mobilities could not take place. However, all the planned long-term student exchanges with all the partner universities were carried out, some of them partly on-line. The student exchanges which took place were definitely beneficial; especially for two participants from underprivileged socioeconomic background, this experience was life-changing – without the EEA grant they would hardly have considered studying abroad a viable option.

Summary of bilateral results

The cooperation with all three Norwegian partner universities was based on long term relations especially in student mobility, so the expected results were proved already by previous experiences with such collaboration.Promotion of mobility options within this project definitely increased interest in Norway, Norwegian culture and mobility in general among Czech students. For mobility participants, first-hand experience with different type of education system, high quality teaching standards, Norwegian culture and way of life was definitely beneficial and improved their knowledge, skills and mutual understanding. By sharing this experience among their fellow students and colleagues it could be inspiring for others. The collaboration will definitely further continue. There are bilateral agreements with all partner institutions within Erasmus+ programme for student mobility and further staff mobility especially within international relations is definitely planned
