Description
The Alba County School Inspectorate implements the project WE LEARN TOGETHER to increase inclusion performance in 6 schools with more than 20% Roma students from remote disadvantaged communities with a high percentage of unemployment.
The project provides:
- training regarding Roma children inclusion for 72 teachers
- 6 new optional curricula concerning an inclusive and multicultural environment
- awareness raising on anti-discrimination for 84 Roma and non-Roma parents
- extracurricular activities on inclusion for 240 Roma and non-Roma students from partner schools.

Summary of project results
During the project, the six partner schools from the Alba County increased their institutional capacity to ensure effective inclusion and quality education of Roma pupils by:
- training 72 teachers in the field of: pupils centered approach, inclusive school, teaching in a multicultural environment, democracy and citizenship, pupils rights, etc. out of whom 100% declared an improvement of their competencies
- elaborating 6 new curricula on inclusiveness and multicultural environment
- involving 84 Roma and non-Roma parents in educational activities on discrimination
- involving 240 Roma and non-Roma pupils in extra-curricular activities on inclusion. 100% of the pupils participating in the project were satisfied of taking part in the activities. Discrimination perceived by pupils in the partner schools decreased at the end (compared to the start) of the project.
