Description
The main objective of the project is to strengthen the capacity of the national authorities in the asylum and migration area.
The project envisages training activities for the staff of the State Agency for Refugees on dealing with third-country nationals seeking international protection with focus on unaccompanied minors. The national legislation in the field of representation of unaccompanied children will be analysed and a Manual for the work of the appointed legal guardians will be elaborated.
The project includes measures for increasing of the knowledge and skills of employees regarding the countries of origin of applicants for international protection – social, cultural, educational, religious and economic characteristics.
Trainings for case workers, registration and accommodation officers, vulnerability assessment experts will be conducted. Topics as methods and approaches to conduct interviews, as well as preparation of tools for work with different groups of persons seeking international protection will be delivered.
In addition to the training activities, seminar and meetings facilities in SAR premises will be equipped and renovated. A functional analysis of SAR will be elaborated.
Other main activity under the project is the capacity building for the General Directorate Border Police and for Migration Directorate of the Ministry of Interior. Trainings for working with unaccompanied minors and in the field of counteracting trafficking in human beings will be held.
Exchange of experience and best practices with Norwegian partners is provided. A number of joint trainings and study visits will be conducted. The Norwegian National Police Immigration Service supports the activities under the project. The project will contribute to the strengthening of bilateral relations and long-term cooperation between Bulgaria and Norway in the field of migration and asylum.
