Romanian Health programme: Launching conference

September112019

The Romanian European Public Health Challenges Programme will be formally launched in Bucharest on 11 September 2019. The conference is organised by the Ministry of Health of Romania together with the Norwegian Institute of Public Health and the Norwegian Directorate of Health.

The  €47 million programme aims to improve prevention and to reduce inequalities in health through a variety of measures. This includes the prevention and treatment of communicable diseases, improving the health status of vulnerable groups (such as children, elderly and Roma) by setting up new services of primary health care and community care assistance, and by improving the access to preventative health care services for children and women.

The launching conference will present information about funding and partnership opportunities in the programme, as well as present several pre-defined projects which will be supported through the programme in the coming years.
