The Lithuanian NGO Fund

Lithuania's €5.5 million NGO fund supports 105 projects by civil society organisations, within the priority sectors sustainable development and strengthening of the democracy and civil society.

Liechtenstein, Iceland and Norway are supporting the fund with close to €5 million, while the Lithuanian government is contributing with the remaining 10 percent of the fund.

The overall goal of the fund is to strengthen the democratic and civil society in Lithuania by developing the NGOs' institutional capacity. Through one open calls, grants were awarded to projects by non governmental organisations that could raise their institutional capacity, influence and role in society.

The NGO fund awarded grants to 105 projects:

  • 43 within the focus area of democracy, human rights and discrimination; and
  • 62 within the focus area of sustainable development
