How many times does the Danube have to flood before we wake up? Climate change is happening and Hungary is no exception.
Tackling climate change
Addressing and limiting the impacts of climate change is a key priority for the EEA and Norway Grants. A call is now open in Hungary to tackle climate change by raising awareness and exchanging experience on slowing and adapting to climate change.
The aim within this call is to encourage and increase cooperation between Hungary and the three donor states Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway in the field of climate change and environmental protection. Each proposal must have at least one partner from the donor states.
Equal opportunities for women
Another call that has also just opened in Hungary is for joint proposals to strengthen equal opportunities for women. The two areas of support are fighting violence and abuse at work and to promote better balance between work and family life by improving women’s status in the labour market including flexible employment and other solutions and stimulate businesses set up and run by women.
The aim within this call is to encourage and increase cooperation between Hungary and the three donor states Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway in the field of strengthening gender equality and elimination of violence against women. Each proposal must have at least one partner from the donor states.
Strengthening cooperation
In addition to programme and project support under the EEA and Norway Grants, funding is available in each beneficiary country for developing bilateral cooperation and activities of bilateral interest with the three donor countries Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway. The two calls mentioned in this article are funded under the bilateral fund in Hungary.
For each of the calls €150 000 is available. The deadline for submission of application is continuous for ad hoc initiatives such as participating at or organising an event or meeting and 31 January 2014 for initiatives aiming at establishing longer term cooperation such as a conference, a serious of events etc.
