Entitled “The Business Advantage of Green Innovation: the Norwegian perspective” the seminar was part of the Norwegian Days in Lithuania. With over one hundred participants, it provided a forum for identifying opportunities for Lithuanian-Norwegian cooperation in the field of green innovation. Both the Norwegian Ambassador to Lithuania, Leif Arne Ulland, and Norwegian State Secretary of Trade and Industry, Halvard Ingebrigtsen, were present, as well as the Lithuanian Vice-Minister of Economy, Mindaugas Petrauskas. In his speech, Mr Ingebrigtsen outlined Norwegian government policies in the sector. Mr Petraukas highlighted the importance of, and opportunities for, cooperation between Norway and Lithuania in the field of green industry innovation.
Participants included representatives from several Lithuanian ministries, municipalities and Lithuanian innovation and business promotion agencies. Workshop discussions were held on various topics, including an account of the funding available for green industries through the EEA and Norway Grants by Tore Lasse By from Innovation Norway and a talk on Lithuanian innovation policy by Rima Putkiene from the Lithuanian Ministry of Economy.
The Lithuanian green industry innovation program is worth €8 million. The Lithuanian Ministry of Economy and Innovation Norway are currently in the process of fine-tuning the partnership details.
