Support to NGOs will be focused on three main areas: human rights and a multicultural society, disadvantaged children and youth, and protection of the environment.
In the first call for proposals priority will be given to projects within the following areas:
- Fostering multicultural environment in communities;
- Strengthening human rights and fight against discrimination and racism;
- Support to children and youth with specific problems; and
- Environmental Protection.
Project duration is set at 12 months, and grant assistance will be awarded in the range of €10 000 to €50 000. Deadline for submission of applications for project assistance is 5 March 2007. Please consult the open call text for further information.
Over the following three years the Czech NGO will make an additional €6.2 million available in grant support to NGO applicants through another two calls for proposals. The Czech non-profit foundation Nadace Rozvoje Obèanské Spoleènosti (NROS) administers the fund.
Ten of the 13 beneficiary states of the EEA Grants plan to establish NGO Funds, which are an additional form of grant assistance under the EEA Grants, adapted to the specific needs of NGOs.
