Wars and violence in the Middle East and North Africa – particularly in Syria – have driven record numbers of refugees, including many children, to seek safety and asylum in Europe. These refugees face extreme vulnerability. Civil society has a key role to play in raising public awareness of the plight of refugees and encouraging support. NGOs also provide critical services to help refugees integrate into their new communities and in monitoring the human rights situation.
Eligible projects
Projects eligible for support in this latest call under the programme should address one or several of the following issues:
- Preparation and training of professional staff for work with new groups of refugees
- Activities to prepare local public institutions and communities for receiving new groups of refugees
- Preparing material needed for working with new groups of refugees
- Monitoring and research activities intended to identify existing and potential challenges when preparing the admission of new groups of refugees
The overall budget for this call is €800 000. An estimated 10-15 project grants will be awarded. Maximum duration of projects is four months: from January 2016 until April 2016. Implementation of projects must end no later than 30 April 2016.
Application criteria
- Grants are available only to groups of Polish NGOs. A group shall consists of minimum three organisations: one lead organisation and two partners
- The deadline for submitting project proposals is 30 November 2015, 12.00 (noon) CET
