The international conference ‘Too Much, Too Little – The Role of Water in Adaptation to Climate Change’ taking place in Lisbon 7-9 October is addressing the impact climate change has on water resources in Europe. The conference brings together more than 200 national and international experts, researchers, policymakers and representatives of environmental NGOs from all over Europe.

The conference is taking place at the Crystal Myriad Center in Lisbon and is organised by the Portuguese Ministry of Environment, Spatial Planning and Energy, The Portuguese Environment Agency (APA) and the Norwegian Directorate for Civil Protection (DSB) and supported by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the EEA Grants
High-level opening
On Monday 7 October, the Portuguese Minister of Environment, Jorge Moreira da Silva, and Political Adviser to the Norwegian Minister of the Environment, Audun Garberg, are opening the conference. During the opening session, the Programme Agreement of the EEA Grants Adaptation to Climate Change programme in Portugal will also be signed.
Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway support programmes dealing with climate change adaptation in nine EU countries thorough the EEA Grants.

Floods and droughts
Through high-level interventions on topics such as droughts and water scarcity, floods and landslides, infrastructures and changes in agriculture practices, food security or the issue of trans boundary water management and other geopolitical implications, the conference will result in the production of a report with the main messages for future political and technical interventions.
