Seminar on the Scholarships funds 5-6 October in Norway

On 5-6 October a seminar will be held in Norway on the 11 Scholarship funds to be established under the EEA Grants. Fund intermediaries in the beneficiary states and their counterparts in Norway and Iceland will have a chance to exchange experiences and strengthen their cooperation.

The seminar will be hosted by the Norwegian Centre for International Cooperation in Higher Education, SIU, which is the Norwegian contact point for the Scholarship funds.

Throughout the two days seminar in the city of Bergen, participants have an opportunity to exchange experiences and discuss their chosen managerial set-ups. In addition the seminar provides an arena for strengthening the contact between the fund intermediaries, as well as among the intermediaries, educational institutions and national contact points for the Scholarship funds in Iceland and Norway.

The seminar also includes sessions on recent developments and current issues in higher education/secondary education in Norway, as well as visits to educational institutions in Bergen. The seminar is arranged in cooperation with the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Scholarship funds are planned in 11 of the financial mechanisms' beneficiary states at a total value of around €25 million. Research funds will be established in seven beneficiary states at a total value of around €21 million.
