Funding for Bulgarian civil society

The Bulgarian NGO Fund under the EEA and Norway Grants has announced its second and last open call for projects. Applications can be submitted until 19 June 2009.

Close to €870 000 will be made available to projects under this call. Grants are awarded to projects falling under one of the three priority areas protection of environment and promotion of sustainable development, provision and development of social services, and development of civil society and protection of human rights.

In the first priority sector, projects may apply for grants ranging from €10 000 to €75 000, whereas projects in the two latter sectors may receive between €10 000 and €50 000. All applicants must provide at least 10 % of the total cost of the project themselves.

An important overall aim of the EEA and Norway Grants is to strengthen the development and role of non-governmental organisations in the beneficiary states.
