Call for human rights projects in Slovakia

The Slovak NGO fund for human rights launched its second call for NGO grants on 16 September, making over €900,000 in project support available for Slovak NGOs.

Proposals can be submitted until 16 November 2008 to fund manager Open Society Foundation. The Slovak NGO fund for human rights is one of three Slovak NGO funds set up under the EEA and Norway Grants.

NGOs from around Slovakia can now apply for grants ranging from €20,000 to €80,000 to support their efforts within human rights advocay, social inclusion and promotion ogf non-discrimination. Successful applicants will need to co-finance 10% of the total project costs.

Grants will be awarded within the following four categories:

  • human rights protection;
  • right to equal treatment;
  • strengthening of the judiciary; and
  • strengthening of a multicultural environment.
