Description
The project aims to contribute with sustainable solutions for the global waste problem through creative upcycling of generated textile waste. HACHAI is a new type of seat bag that absorbs about 10 times more textile waste for its production than other similar products. It recycles used material from the automotive and furniture industries. HACHAI could be also easily recycled for further production of a new seat bag, or textile boards used in construction and transportation.
Summary of project results
The project aimed to address several challenges, including the timely procurement and delivery of technical equipment, negotiations with material suppliers, and finding suitable storage space for collected materials. Additionally, the project faced issues with the verification of measurable indicators and the administrative burden associated with project management.
The project completed several key activities. Activity 1 involved finalizing the technical documentation for designs HACHAI, FAINCASE, and FAINBAG. In Activity 2, the project successfully procured and delivered the necessary equipment by the end of September 2023, followed by payment settlements and commissioning of the equipment. Activity 3 was completed as planned, with a final conference held on November 28, 2023. Activity 4 was fully completed, and Activity 5 was also finished. Throughout the project, project management and financial management were ongoing to ensure smooth implementation. Additionally, the project registered several trademarks and designs, including "WAKIVAKY," "HACHAI," "FAINCASE," and "FAINBAG."
The project successfully achieved its objectives, including the completion of technical documentation, procurement and commissioning of equipment, and holding a final conference. The main beneficiaries were the project team and stakeholders involved in the production and operational processes. The project also contributed to the re-use and recycling of waste materials, although some targets were not fully met due to delays and extended negotiations.
