Description

Marinerus Explorer SRL is, with the help of EEA and Norway Grants, pioneering a groundbreaking venture in Romania – underwater ecological reconstruction. While the diving industry has seen growth, no company has specialized in this environmentally crucial area until now. Our project is set to change the game by equipping and training our team and developing activities for ecological re-saturation, creating a unique and scientifically endorsed service for ecological restoration, backed by the Romanian Academy Institute of Biology in Bucharest. Unlike other marine nurseries, our project will establish a locally accessible source of biological material tailored for ecological reconstruction. Today, we stand ready to meet the demands of the future with our innovative offerings.

The primary goals of this project encompass the provision of essential equipment for efficient and environmentally-friendly ecological restoration services. This includes the acquisition of high-efficiency, user-friendly, and low-pollution equipment. Additionally, the project aims to employ biotechnology techniques for the multiplication of the Cystoseira barbata species. Furthermore, a dedicated nursery will be established to cultivate and propagate the Cystoseira barbata species, contributing to the restoration of aquatic ecosystems.

The new project aims to build upon the outcomes and outputs of the previous project through value creation and mainly by developing and applying a new solution for surveillance/monitoring of the culture of Cystoseira barbata in two underwater nurseries. The Applicant will streamline the surveillance/monitoring by implementing new digital technology for surveillance, observation and investigation, underwater and from the surface, in different locations and on much larger areas, which was until now done exclusively by professionals divers.
