Description

In 2010 the Industrial Ecological Park, ECOPARK was opened in Târgşoru Nou village, Ariceștii Rahtivani commune, Prahova County. With a projected capacity of 240,000 cubic meters per million tons, ECOPARK is the largest hazardous waste landfill in Romania and provides the necessary logistics for carrying out complete services for the collection, treatment and disposal of industrial waste, provided in accordance with all local and international environmental protection regulations.

The main objective of the project is to increase efficiency and optimization of the hazardous waste integrated management service. In order to do so, the company needs to invest in equipment that supplement the existing logistics used for analysing liquid waste and wastewater by introducing new analysis. The company also aims to introduce new treatment and disposal of the waste.

The project will strengthen the company’s position and development. The range and quality of waste management services supplied in ECOPARK will increase, the company being thus able to deliver full-service, integrated environmental services for the entire range of waste, using own facilities. The quantity of existing liquid waste and wastewaters deposited in ECOPARK will decrease through processing, which results in improved environmental indicators and increased new quantities collected from third parties. Key activities include:

  • Equipment procurement.

  • Publicity and communications of the project.

  • Technical and financial project management as well as financial audit.

Expected outcomes include an estimated annual decrease in CO2 emissions by 25,03 tonnes in 2023 versus 2019. Energy consumption is estimated to decrease annually by 15 MWh in 2023 versus 2019 and for the same period, re-use or recycling of materials is expected to be around 37,479 tonnes.
