Description

The main objective of the project is to further develop the capability of Olstral HPT to produce and deliver innovative parts (ultra-high accuracy parts) for aerospace and medical industry. Through this project, Olstral will establish an innovative and sustainable production unit in Romania. This will make Olstral HPT one of few companies in Romania that supply parts for the aerospace markets and the first Romanian company able to produce parts for the medical industry. The project will allow the company to manufacture parts for medical equipment, medical implant screws, dental implants, orthopedic surgical implants and complex parts for aviation industry.

The technical solution contains a list of high accuracy equipment which will be used for both types of products, aerospace and medical field. The technology is new for the enterprise and the resulted products are new for the company and at a national level. Key activities include:

  • Investments related to the new equipment.
  • Project management by internal team.
  • Publicity to ensure the visibility of the project.

Expected outcomes of the project includes an estimated annual decrease of CO2 emissions from 111,54 tonnes of CO2 (year 2019) to 83,11 tonnes of CO2 (2022). Innovative technologies will be implemented, and the project is expected to generate 12 new jobs.

The project will be implemented in partnership with the Norwegian company Link Medical Research AS. The role of the partner is to provide technical advice and specific support in regards to the products to be manufactured for the medical devices market. They will also provide recommendations in relation to the regulatory strategy as well as guidance within national and international requirements for the medical field.
