Description

The main goal of the projected proposed by Lasting Software SRL is to develop an innovative product integrating patented information and communication technologies (ICT) and components in the field of air pollution measurements as well as develop wearable devices. The project will increase the competitiveness of the company within strategic area ICT on the European Union and global consumer markets. The project aims to identify methods and develop new algorithms to assess determination of oxygen quantity (DQO) in reasonable time and costs while maintaining the accuracy levels. Key activities include:

  • Project management and communication.
  • Review and evaluation of new low-cost sensors using different technologies.
  • Develop a faster method to assess sensor measurement accuracy and DQO.
  • Integrate the new developed algorithms into the existing technology and validate the technology in relevant conditions.
  • Demonstrate the technology and system prototype in relevant conditions.
  • Publicity to promote project.

Expected outcomes of the successful implementation of the project include development of 1 ICT solution and submit for patent and develop 2 new wearable products which will be commercialized by the end of 2021. The project will also lead to a creation of 3 new jobs with equal opportunity, equal salary and women empowerment taken into account.

The project is performed in partnership with Norwegian Institute for Air Research (NILU) who have a long experience when it comes to air pollutants measurements, developing, testing, and validating air quality technologies. The main role of the partner will be to validate the proposed data quality assessment models and test the prototypes. The goal of the cooperation is to develop a long-term partnership with partners in Norway interested in air quality monitoring. NILU have the mission to understand processes and effects of climate change.

Summary of project results

Lasting Software SRL managed to achieve all the output indicators and created 6 new jobs. They developed two new wearable products which use different technologies that have been included in studies and algorithms. One of the products is under the internet of things category and has a self-communication module and high accuracy sensors. The other product connects to a telephone to send data and has a lower accuracy sensors but with greater autonomy. They have also published one scientific article which is posted on an open access platform.

Summary of bilateral results

The activity that the partner conducted was research development and innovation. It included developing a faster method to asses sensor measurements accuracy, validate the proposed technology in a technology-laboratory and field tests. Finally, they validated the technology in relevant environment conditions. The cooperation may continue but a formal agreement is not in place.
